Aberdeen firm invests in state-of-the-art racking

A storage solutions specialist in Aberdeen is to make a £1m investment into the latest modern warehouse racking.

The announcement comes as the firm marks becoming the largest storage systems distributor in Scotland.

Greenwell Equipment is to invest in heavy duty racking for pallets, as well as a more lightweight duty system. It is understood that the firm will also distribute the racking and shelving it is to use itself.

The family-run company is enjoying considerably growth. Greenwell now employs 15 workers and has recently gained ISO9001, ISO14001, and OHSAS18001 accreditations. The new warehouse racking will ensure it can maintain the standards demanded to maintain the accreditation.

The sales manager of Greenwell, Scott Brown, said that the new racking would give the firm a leading position in the field, going on to explain:

“The equipment is produced using the most advanced European production techniques with fully automated production processes. Every aspect is fully tested, with the added bonus of 100% traceability.”

Mr Brown went on to add that increasingly customers of warehouse racking are demanding compliance with standards across Europe, with Greenwell providing the solutions to such demands.

He also said that stocking and distributing the racking will allow the firm not only to offer an increased choice to existing customers, but to attract higher numbers of new clients.

With a greater turnaround in stock delivery too, helped by an automated quote, order, delivery, and installation process, the firm is hoping to reduce customer lead times significantly.
