Family firm to create jobs with new warehouse

A family-owned removals company is to take on new staff, as it looks to expand by acquiring a new warehouse facility.

Cambridge Removals and Storage, which has recently taken on two new employees and will look to add another three, is going to occupy a 2,000 sq ft facility. It is the first time that the firm will have had warehouse flooring warehouse flooring of its own, having outsourced it in the past.

The unit will now allow the company to offer its customers their own short-term storage facilities. The owner, Jason Day, hoped it will help people that are already facing the stress of moving, adding:

“We are trying to create solutions to problems caused throughout everyday life. There is great demand – people outgrow their homes, or they sell up and there is a slight delay in the chain and they want to use storage rather than lose the sale.”

Mr Day also said that the facility could be used by customers who are having new items delivered for their properties. In the event that the items arrive before completion, he commented that they too can be securely stored in the warehouse, explaining:

“The new unit will add a whole new dimension to the way the company operates and I look forward to seeing Cambridge Removals go from strength to strength.”

This fortifying of the firm is something that Mr Day and his wife Kelly were struggling to see some time ago. He admitted that without the warehouse being bought, it was likely that they would have had to downsize.
