An American company which was founded in 1980 with a staff of 19 has just opened another store in the centre of London, making use of a mezzanine flooring mezzanine flooring level to maximise the available space.

Installing mezzanine floors has become an extremely popular and cost-effective method of increasing the useable space in a building situated either in a high-rent area, or in an area which is already heavily built up or has restrictive planning laws which limit the type of extension work allowed.

Whole Foods has recently relocated to Glasshouse Street, just off Piccadilly in the heart of the city, an area which is presently undergoing re-development. Nestling among high-profile names like Lotus cars and Ugg shoes, Whole Foods Market offers a whole new shopping experience in a vibrant and fashionable corner of London.

The new premises has been configured to offer a large ground floor area which gives the impression of a New York deli shopping hall, offering an array of fresh, natural and organic produce, either ready prepared for a quick meal or the ingredients to cook from scratch, with the choice and quality that customers have come to expect from the brand name.

The mezzanine flooring area on the balcony has been fitted out as a cafe for customers to relax and have a coffee while they watch the view below, while one area of the mezzanine offers homeopathic remedies, vitamin and health products as well as a number of publications on food and cooking.
