The refurbishment of an office block in Leicester, which has delivered around 15,000 square feet of new office flooring office flooring to the East Midlands city, has been finished.

The £1m redevelopment of St George’s House, based in the city centre, is set for its official reopening today, with the first tenants moving in on Monday next week.

The newly refurbished office flooring, across four levels, has been designed in accordance with best practice and the latest guidelines. The work sees a number of private offices being created, along with meeting rooms, a reception and other facilities.

Four floors of the new space have been leased by professional building services provider Regus, which is also acting to attract tenants. The firm’s managing director, Steve Purdy, said:

“St George’s House is an exciting addition to our network in the Midlands, providing a new centrally located business base with convenient access to the rail station.

“We expect strong take-up from local small businesses, start-ups and remote workers as well as national firms opening satellite offices and global businesses establishing a footprint in the Midlands.”

A need for high quality office space in and around Leicester was highlighted two years ago by the firm, which says that its investment in the building has already benefited the local area, particularly in respect to business visitors coming into the city by train.

Said to be key to attracting future investment, Purdy also imagines that the building will create opportunities for local start-ups and growing businesses.
