North West warehouse market continues to grow

According to industry experts, the number of warehouse deals presently being signed in the North West of England is prompting the expected launch of speculative constructions.

With the warehouse market in the region increasing at a rapid rate, Trafford Park remains the most popular destination for firms in need of  warehouse flooring  warehouse flooring, with two deals being completed this month.

The first, an 184,000 sq ft unit at the Barton Dock Road site of Trafford Park, has just been purchased by AK Worthington in a £4.5m deal. The second sees a 51,400 sq ft facility being picked up by a Chinese firm.

A number of smaller deals have recently been completed at Trafford Park’s Longwood Park estate as well, following extensive refurbishment works. Cumulatively totalling about 45,000 sq ft of space, another deal is presently going through, meaning that there is now just one remaining unit up for grabs.

There are a number companies looking for facilities in the 200,000 sq ft range too, although presently demand is stalling any purchases from being completed.

While Trafford Park remains the preferred site in the region, other areas are also doing well.

A 213,000 sq ft unit near Stoke-on-Trent is presently being sold, while planning permission has just been granted for a 686,000 sq ft distribution centre in Warrington, which will include  office flooring  office flooring.

Located on an area of land comprising 41 acres and having great network links, there is also capacity for future developments, which could already be in the pipeline in light of the continuing demand.
