An agricultural organisation has moved into its new office development in Warwickshire, which sees it combine three former buildings into just the one modern development.

This was the first significant construction at the Stoneleigh Park site in a decade, with work starting back in May of last year.

The building, which offers the 325 staff of the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) 35,000 square feet of office flooring office flooring, was constructed to a cost of £5m. It will act as the organisation’s nationwide headquarters.

The two-storey office space has been constructed to state-of-the-art office designs and furnishings, bringing together the previously separated six divisions of the AHDB. It is the first time that the whole body will have worked in the same building.

Designed to complement its rural setting, reflect the placement of the organisation, and to use locally sourced and natural materials wherever practicable, the AHDB’s chief executive, Tom Taylor, said:

“The building makes a real statement and will enable a modern way of working with colleagues from the same functions, rather than the same divisions, seated together in an open plan environment.”

Divided into wings, the building has been colour coded throughout; reflecting the seasons in the agricultural calendar that the organisation’s divisions serve. Decorations throughout the office space include pastoral scenes, as well as industry-specific quotations.

A statutory levy body, the AHDB is funded by farmers and growers, as well as others stakeholders in the agricultural supply chain. It is focused on improvements across the industry, to increase competitiveness, efficiency and sustainability.
